1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled (optional)
1 pound ground beef (optional)
1 medium onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced (I use half and a few ribs of celery.)
1 can great northern beans
1 can kidney beans (or white kidney beans)
1 can pork and beans
1/2 C. brown sugar (I use 1/2-3/4 C. brown sugar and no white sugar.)
1/2 C. white sugar (I omit and use just 1/2-3/4 C. brown sugar.)
1/4 C.+ ketchup
1-2 Tbsp. molasses
1 scant Tbsp. prepared yellow mustard
1 scant Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

- 1) If using, cook bacon until crispy. Blot free of grease and crumble.
- 2) If using, brown ground beef with diced onion.
- 3) Place first 3 items in a large oven roaster or Crock Pot.
- 4) To this, add the 3 cans of beans; do not drain pork and beans.
- 5) Mix all other ingredients together in a medium bowl.
- 6) Pour over meat and beans and stir well.
- 7) If baking, cook at 350 degrees for 1 hour covered.
- 8) Remove lid or foil and bake for 20 more minutes.
NOTE: When I don't have a can of pork and beans I've been known to add a can of Rotel and a little BBQ sauce when making these to make a good, juicy sauce.
